Tasks

    • Operation of Locomotives During Shunting and Train Runs
    • Conducting functional tests on the locomotive and the radio remote control system, including regular maintenance work
    • Conducting brake tests and coupling and uncoupling cars
    • Care and maintenance of the operational infrastructure (e.g., switch lubrication)
    • Thorough preparation and reliable final inspection of modern locomotives
    • Ensuring that train and shunting operations run smoothly, on schedule, and safely

requirements

  • Certification as a locomotive engineer with a Class B driver's license
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in public rail service, ideally in freight transport, long-distance service, or demanding regional service
  • Knowledge of specific model series from the ALSTOM or Bombardier platforms (e.g., multiple-unit trains or TRAXX-series locomotives) is a plus
  • Ideally, technical vocational training or technical work experience in assessing the condition of rail vehicles
  • In-depth knowledge of the Train Operator Regulations, as well as of vehicle technology and railcar inspections
