Tasks
- They manufacture individual parts and small batches of parts made of steel, aluminum, and plastic according to drawings, using both conventional and CNC machines (turning, milling, grinding, drilling).
- You set up the machines yourself, select tools and cutting parameters, and modify or create CNC programs on the control panel.
- They assemble subassemblies, fixtures, and equipment, fit parts into place, and test their functionality.
- You measure your parts using calipers, a micrometer, a dial indicator, and a height gauge, and document the results.
- They maintain and repair machines, fixtures, and plant components, troubleshoot problems, and manufacture replacement parts themselves as needed.
- They coordinate with the design and work planning teams when a drawing cannot be implemented in production as originally intended, and offer their own suggestions.
requirements
- Completed training as a precision machinist, industrial machinist, cutting-tool machinist, or toolmaker (m/f/d)
- Ability to accurately interpret technical drawings, including tolerances and specifications regarding form and location
- Experience in turning and milling; knowledge of CNC control systems (e.g., Heidenhain, Siemens, or Fanuc) is a plus
- Precision down to the hundredth and a willingness to double-check a part yourself before moving on
