Tasks

• Independently setting up and configuring CNC lathes and milling machines for individual parts and small production runs
• Creating, modifying, and optimizing CNC programs at the control panel or at the programming station (CAM)
• Selection of tools, clamping devices, and cutting data; tool measurement and tool management
• Implementation of new programs, production of the first part, and approval following the first-part inspection
• Manufacturing of parts according to drawings, including in-process dimensional inspection and documentation
• Identifying and Resolving Machining Problems (Dimensional Deviations, Surface Finish, Tool Wear, Vibrations)
• Improvements in cycle times, clamping concepts, and tool life
• Machine Maintenance and Care; Reporting and Coordinating Repairs
• Training and Supporting Machine Operators

requirements

• Completed training as a machinist, precision machinist, industrial mechanic, toolmaker, or equivalent
• Several years of experience in setting up and programming CNC lathes or milling machines
• Proficiency in at least one common control system (e.g., Heidenhain, Siemens, Fanuc); knowledge of CAM is a plus
• Ability to accurately read technical drawings, including tolerances and geometric and positional specifications
• Proficiency in using measuring equipment; experience with altimeters or measuring machines is a plus
• A solid understanding of materials, cutting tools, and machining processes
• Ability to work independently and meticulously, and a strong sense of responsibility for quality and the machine
• Willingness to work shifts
