Tasks
- Independently setting up and configuring CNC lathes and milling machines for individual parts and small production runs
- Creating, modifying, and optimizing CNC programs at the control panel or at the programming station (CAM)
- Selection of tools, clamping devices, and cutting data; tool measurement and tool management
- Implementation of new programs, production of the first part, and approval following the first-part inspection
- Manufacturing of parts according to drawings, including in-process dimensional inspection and documentation
- Identifying and Resolving Machining Problems (Dimensional Deviations, Surface Finish, Tool Wear, Vibrations)
- Improvements in cycle times, clamping concepts, and tool life
- Machine Maintenance and Care; Reporting and Coordinating Repairs
- Training and Supporting Machine Operators
requirements
- Completed training as a machinist, precision machinist, industrial mechanic, toolmaker, or equivalent
- Several years of experience in setting up and programming CNC lathes or milling machines
- Proficiency in at least one common control system (e.g., Heidenhain, Siemens, Fanuc); knowledge of CAM is a plus
- Ability to accurately read technical drawings, including tolerances and geometric and positional specifications
- Proficiency in using measuring equipment; experience with altimeters or measuring machines is a plus
- A solid understanding of materials, cutting tools, and machining processes
- Ability to work independently and meticulously, and a strong sense of responsibility for quality and the machine
- Willingness to work shifts
