Tasks
- Paint Defect Repair (Rework):Sanding down and high-gloss polishing of dust particles, runs, scratches, or other imperfections on freshly painted car bodies or body parts.
- Vehicle Finishing and Detailing: Cosmetic detailing of new vehicles, leased return vehicles, trade show vehicles, or test drive vehicles in preparation for final delivery or presentation.
- Visual Quality Control: Inspecting vehicle surfaces for visual defects before the vehicles proceed to shipping or the next stage of production.
- Working with Professional Tools: Safe use of rotary and eccentric polishers, as well as various abrasives, polishing compounds, and sealants.
- Documentation: Occasional recording of resolved errors as part of quality management.
requirements
- Desirable Education: A completed apprenticeship as an automotive painter (m/f/d), automotive detailer (m/f/d), or a comparable qualification in the automotive industry is a significant advantage.
- Safe Handling of Chemicals: Knowledge of the proper use of various grinding pastes, polishes, and sealants.
- A strong focus on quality: A trained eye for surface defects, color variations, dust particles, or fine scratches (“an eye for finish”).
- Physical Stamina: The work is mostly performed while standing, often in a bent-over position or with arms raised above the head, which requires good physical fitness.
- Care and patience: Flawless sanding and polishing of fresh factory paint requires a precise and steady hand to avoid so-called “over-polishing.”
- Language Skills: Sufficient knowledge of German (at least B1) to understand work instructions and fill out error logs
